We're a family of 5 who love doing things together. I am so blessed to have the life that God has given me. I pray that I always give God the glory and don't take my precious family for granted.

Snowed In!
What a crazy experience! We were so excited last Sunday when it looked pretty likely that we would be getting some snow that night! We had NO idea we would get close to 6 inches or that it would also get a layer of ice on top that stuck around until the next Monday!!! Here's how the week went:
Monday- WOW! Look at all that snow!! This is AWESOME! Let's go play in it!
Tuesday- Cool, the snow is still here, maybe we can go out and play in it (but it's REALLY crunchy snow)
Wednesday- Man, I wish we could at least go to the grocery store today, but I guess we'll go outside and try the snow again (now it's harder, more compact and sorta like an ice rink)
Thursday- CRAP! This stinkin' snow is still here, the roads are still icy and the grass/driveway is like a HUGE ice rink!
Friday- HELP US!! We're stuck at home and we need to leave...we need greasy fast food, we need to be able to go to a grocery store...we need to be able to go outside without falling down from slippery ice!!!
It was a unique experience and I don't necessarily long for it to happen again any time soon! But, I have to say, the best thing about this snow was that we NEVER lost power! And, that was our saving grace, because without power we would not have been able to be entertained by the extensive news coverage, watch movies, play Wii, eat warm food, or stay warm!!

We had a wonderful Christmas this year--filled with lots of toys, good food, precious family and much to be thankful for! In our small house, it's very tricky for Santa to do his job. After a fun-filled (but sorta sickly) Christmas Eve, I was just flat out pooped and had to come home and sleep on the couch for a couple of hours. Nick played wii for awhile till we decided it was safe for us to do our job. We stayed up too late (close to 2am!) getting things situated the way we wanted them, and were kinda disappointed with some of the cheaply made toys Santa had chosen. Anyway, we went to sleep, and at 7:15, Bradley was the first to wake up. He was so excited when he came in our room to tell us that Santa had left lots of toys for them in the den. I told him to go wake up Rachel and show her too. They were both so excited and exclaiming over all that they had gotten. We didn't wake up Trenty, who slept till 8:00 or so, but he was really excited when he saw his toys (and his siblings'). We enjoyed our traditional breakfast of sausage balls and then were glad to show Gege and Papa and Nana and Pop what all Santa had brought!

Christmas Eve w/Gege and Papa
(could have been our Christmas card!)
thanks Uncle Stacy!
Christmas Eve was a wonderful day even though I didn't feel up to "par". Gege and Papa made a delicious meal and gave everyone lots of great presents!! The kids had so much fun trying out all their new stuff, not to mention their new scooters...all 3 got a new one, but for some reason, I didn't get a picture of them. It was a fun evening with our sweet family!
