11 Years!

Actually, Nick and I have been together for 16 years! We dated for 5 and have been married, today, for 11 years! Those years have been filled with lots of happiness, lots of love, lots of new and exciting things and a whole lot of maturing! I love my sweet husband more today then I did when we first got married. We have been blessed so much with a beautiful family, a beautiful home, precious extended family, good health, precious friends, a loving church family, sweet pets and so many fun times!! If our next 11 years are as awesome as our first 11, then we have everything to look forward to.

Brush your teeth!

We tried to brush the "plaque" off the egg

My kids love the simple, yet fun, Science lessons and experiments that we do. The other day, we did a lesson about teeth and how if we don't brush and floss, they are like a hardboiled egg that is soaked in coke. After we let the egg soak for 24 hours, we tried to brush the egg with toothpaste and an old toothbrush to see if we could get the "plaque" off. It was quite difficult to get off very much plaque. It was a really good experiment to help us remember the importance of brushing our teeth. All 3 kids loved trying to brush the egg too.

And, that's the end! We have all the treats we need!

What a fun time we had trick or treating this year! Rachel was our lovely Pocahontas, complete with her raccoon friend, "Racky". Bradley changed (in the 11th hour) from Darth Vader to Spider Man and Trent also changed (in the seconds before we got in the car to go trick or treating) from an adorable lion to a UGA football player. (He loved carrying a football around all night!) We went to see our neighbor, John, who bought some great goodies for the kids, and then went to our traditional neighborhood up the road. We ended with a quick trick or treat at Gege and Papa's. We had given Nana and Pop a preview the day before when everyone wore the original costumes. (N&P- ya'll are the only ones who have pics of the lion and Darth!) The kids never seem to get tired of dressing up and had a really good time!

Olan Mills funnies

Poor, sweet Bradley is the victim of the funniest photos from our Olan Mills session. We know how cute and handsome our boy is, but sometimes it's hard to capture that in a photograph. In Bradley's defense, he was "picked" on the most by the photographer, who made Bradley's nose "squeak" (by way of a squeakie in the photog's pocket) each time he touched his nose. The photog also could NOT remember his name and kept calling Bradley, "Benjamin". So, there was one point where Bradley had had enough and the picture reflects it. We love our precious, good looking, sweet boy!

A 33 year friendship

The guys LOVE having their picture taken together, so us wives try not to let them down. We always make sure to have them pose together. They feign irritation and aggravation, but deep down they're enjoying it. It only takes a couple of seconds before one of them grins or laughs and someone always ends up on their tiptoes so that they appear taller than the others. But, the wives know the truth about who's the tallest, the strongest and the most handsome. :)

These are a few pictures of all our kids...it's pretty neat that Nick, Micah and Brian have been friends since they were babies in the church nursery. Now they all have precious kiddos who enjoy playing together as often as we can arrange our busy schedules to accomodate it.

Church Directory Pictures

For the first time in almost 11 years of marriage, we finally have our professional family picture. It was prompted by our church's request that each family have their picture made so that they could make a new directory. I was thrilled and excited to have a good picture of my sweet family to hang on the wall. Everyone did really well for the pictures and the photographer was really good with the kids. Aside from the stupid pressure that Olan Mills puts on you to spend too much money on pictures, our session was relatively painless! Since we ordered a photo, we "got" to keep a CD of the pictures for a small charge. So, there are some pretty funny ones that deserve their own post.
