Happy Easter from the Milligans!

The Milligan 5
our precious children

What a glorious service we had at church today celebrating our risen Savior!! It was an awesome day filled with praise and thanksgiving and DELICIOUS food with our precious families! The kids got WAY too much candy, but had a great time opening up each special basket or goodie that the grandparents/aunts & uncles thoughtfully prepared. They also enjoyed a fun Easter egg hunt in Gege and Papa's yard. It was a great day and a wonderful reminder of all that we have to be thankful for.

Happy Easter!!

Mittens Milligan

Update on Mittens...she did great getting spayed last month and recovered in our garage for about 8 days. We enjoyed the special bonding time that allowed us, but I didn't enjoy the nasty pee/poo that I got to clean up every day. After we let her out, I bleached the garage floor...literally.

Mittens is very sweet and has a cute little playful attitude. She loves her toys and chases just about anything from leaves to bugs. She gets along incredibly well with Dixie, although there are times when Dixie asserts her "dog-authority" on her; mostly when we're outside as well. Mittens has decided that she'd rather hang out in the garage now, so she sits on whatever chair(s) are left out or on the windowsill. (The kids get a kick out of seeing her in her crazy-kitty positions.) She has decided that one of our old rubber mats that used to be under a playhouse on the playground is perfect for her to claw, so she loves sitting on and using that. I have to say, I enjoy having her around and I like that she's hanging in the garage. We have not seen any mice or mice poop in quite awhile, and we credit Mittens with that.

"Being 2"-by Angie Milligan

Oh, it's fun to be a 2 year old,

where rarely do you do what you are told.

People think you're cute when you act bad-

they laugh and smile when you get mad.

There are so many things to explore, for certain-

from pressing buttons to pulling down curtains.

No one wants to hear you scream or cry-

they'll give you anything from phones to sprite.

You get to eat like a pig and throw food on the floor-

and yet people will offer you more and more.

If you're dirty, you get thrown right into the tub-

where you're forced to enjoy bubbles and toys that you love.

Being 2 is pretty grand, you see--

I wonder if life will be this good when I'm 3!

Trent's Harley

"tough stuff"

There have been alot of posts about Trent and his "rides" but I think this is the last one for awhile. He just so thoroughly enjoys riding on toys and being outdoors. He has loved each and every one that he got for his birthday and all the ones that are Rachel's or Bradley's. Here he is riding his Harley, courtesy of Aunt Linda and Uncle Paul. (Thanks!) He loves it and even loves wearing his new helmet, although I forgot to get a picture of him with it on.

PS- we LOVE being outdoors, so bring on the outdoor toys/ride-ons, etc... We enjoy them all!

Trenty rides again

Trent has mastered driving yet another ride-on toy. I don't know why he thinks he needs to be able to ride them all, but he does. Little stinker! Rachel was kind enough to ride behind him and make sure he was safe, but he did all the steering and he pressed the pedal. Oh Trenty, slow down!!!

Before (ugh!) and After (phew!)

Gross! this isn't even the worst one!
Yay! SO much better!!

I've been embarrassed about our disgusting kitchen cushions for quite a while now. They looked about as nasty as anything I've ever seen and it was hard to encourage guests to sit on them. From 7 years of being spilled on, pee pee'ed on, painted on, etc... they were really needing an overhaul. It was so much fun re-covering them with some vinyl from the fabric store. Now they can easily be wiped down with a soapy rag and there is no evidence of the atrocities that were just there. Happy sitting!

Trent...looking at his wheels while he drives his new tractor

Trenty's birthday included 2 of his favorite things: being outside and riding on outside toys. He definitely enjoyed his special day. All the kids had a blast trying out the scooters, bikes and ride-ons. Trent didn't really want to share his new birthday tractor (thanks Gege and Papa) for the majority of the day, but finally let his big brother ride it after everyone left. (This made Bradley VERY happy...he had been very patient trying to wait for his turn.) We also ate lots of pizza, ate a not-so-yummy "non-dairy whipped topping" cake (oops!) and opened lots of wonderful presents from everyone. It was so much fun celebrating our sweet 2 year old boy with our family!
