All 3--Trent was being super silly!

Our homeschool group, Learning Grove, started back after Labor Day. Rachel was soooooooo excited and eager to retun as a 2nd grader. Bradley wasn't exactly sure what it was going to be like, but he wasn't nervous because his big sis promised to check on him and play with him at recess. They were both so excited to get to take their new backpacks and lunchboxes! They both had a GREAT 1st day of school. They both made new friends and Rachel loved music and art the most. Bradley liked getting to play with his new friends during play time. I'm loving having them both on the same schedule, at the same place each week. Trent and I enjoyed our one-on-one time together and even though he asked several times if we were going to "pi up Racey, Bra Bra", he liked getting all the attention. I'm so excited about this year of homeschooling and feel like we've really gotten off to a great start!!

Bradley's "new" bed

Here's Bradley with his "new" bed. It's less of a cave, with the top bunk removed. He likes it a lot and the whole room looks much brighter to me!

How Trenty Plays

Our Trenty is so bright! I love watching him play with his toys. The other day he started lining up his trucks and tractors in the hall. He almost had them lined up from largest to smallest. It was pretty cute. I don't know if this is something he came up with on his own or if he learned it from watching cousin Alex, who methodically arranges each and every vehicle that he wants to play with. Trenty sure is fun to play with and see how his mind is working!

Finally, a picture of Trent in his bed...awake...happy...he's so proud!

Sleeping Trenty...what a cutie!

Trent LOVES his "bi boy bed" as he calls it. He was very excited when Nick took the bunk beds apart and made him his own special bed like "Bra-by's". I took Trent to Wal Mart to let him pick out some new sheets...he liked them all, from UGA to Spongebob to Cars to Tinkerbell. I finally "helped" him choose the CARS 2 sheets since they were actually on sale and he didn't really care. He set up his blankets and pillows and even insists on having the giant teddy bear that's about 3 feet tall (that he got from G & P at birth) IN his bed with him. I don't mind as long as he feels secure and comfy! He's been very proud to show everyone his bed and has slept pretty well, considering there is so much more room to move around than in that tiny crib. He has had a few nights where he gets turned around...all the way to the foot of his bed and he's not sure what to do. So, he'll call me to come help him.

He's had a few mornings where he wakes up before Bradley does and turns on the light, turns off the noisemaker and wakes up his big brother. He has also gotten out of his bed one night (before the boys fell asleep) and got into bed with Bradley. I could hear him saying, "Bra-Bra" and he sounded upset, so I went in to check on them and found Trent in Bradley's bed. It was cute, but wasn't going to work. As it turns out, Bradley says that he had gotten out of his bed and gone over to Trenty's and that made Trent follow Brad back to his bed. So, I'm thinking Trent was confused that night and thought they were playing a game. So, although the crib to bed transition has been pretty smooth, it's had a few small situations. I think Trent's doing great, though, and know he's going to get adjusted and enjoy sleeping in his bed with all that extra space!

PS- I'll have to get a picture of him AWAKE in his new bed! :)

Time to say: Bye Bye Crib!

Look what I can do!!
I think I'm hilarious!

Woohoo!

See, this is how I climb In AND Out!

We've been contemplating it for awhile now...Trent is a big boy and needs more room, he climbs in AND out of his crib and we thought it was time for a change. So, these are the last EVER pictures of the Milligan children's crib. That crib has been a precious safe haven for our sweet babies, but it is time for a big boy bed! A little bitter-sweet for sure, but we feel like we've gotten our money's worth out of the crib. Now it's time to de-bunk the bunk beds and see what happens!

Meet Samson...

Samson is the newest cat member of our family. He was given to us by some good friends at church who needed one less cat stirring up trouble in their house. He was kept indoors, but his owners thought he would be happier outdoors...and they were right!! "Sammy", as we call him, loves being outdoors. And, because he was raised by such sweet, loving people, he LOVES people. He meows at us to come see him on the front porch (where he is fed and hangs out). He LOVES to be held, which is great for the kids, because they love holding him. He LOVES to be petted and brushed and even comes when we call him. He even gets along well with Dixie! He really is a great cat! Best of all, he was FREE and already neutered when we got him! We're happy to have another cat in our family and hope he sticks around for a long time!
