Hello Big Boy Bed!

Trent...sleeping with his arms through the rails

this was during naptime, just before I woke him up

again...during naptime. Trent is turned around, with his feet on the pillow.

Sleeping Trenty...what a cutie!

Trent LOVES his "bi boy bed" as he calls it. He was very excited when Nick took the bunk beds apart and made him his own special bed like "Bra-by's". I took Trent to Wal Mart to let him pick out some new sheets...he liked them all, from UGA to Spongebob to Cars to Tinkerbell. I finally "helped" him choose the CARS 2 sheets since they were actually on sale and he didn't really care. He set up his blankets and pillows and even insists on having the giant teddy bear that's about 3 feet tall (that he got from G & P at birth) IN his bed with him. I don't mind as long as he feels secure and comfy! He's been very proud to show everyone his bed and has slept pretty well, considering there is so much more room to move around than in that tiny crib. He has had a few nights where he gets turned around...all the way to the foot of his bed and he's not sure what to do. So, he'll call me to come help him.

He's had a few mornings where he wakes up before Bradley does and turns on the light, turns off the noisemaker and wakes up his big brother. He has also gotten out of his bed one night (before the boys fell asleep) and got into bed with Bradley. I could hear him saying, "Bra-Bra" and he sounded upset, so I went in to check on them and found Trent in Bradley's bed. It was cute, but wasn't going to work. As it turns out, Bradley says that he had gotten out of his bed and gone over to Trenty's and that made Trent follow Brad back to his bed. So, I'm thinking Trent was confused that night and thought they were playing a game. So, although the crib to bed transition has been pretty smooth, it's had a few small situations. I think Trent's doing great, though, and know he's going to get adjusted and enjoy sleeping in his bed with all that extra space!

PS- I'll have to get a picture of him AWAKE in his new bed! :)

Time to say: Bye Bye Crib!

Look what I can do!!
I think I'm hilarious!

Woohoo!

See, this is how I climb In AND Out!

We've been contemplating it for awhile now...Trent is a big boy and needs more room, he climbs in AND out of his crib and we thought it was time for a change. So, these are the last EVER pictures of the Milligan children's crib. That crib has been a precious safe haven for our sweet babies, but it is time for a big boy bed! A little bitter-sweet for sure, but we feel like we've gotten our money's worth out of the crib. Now it's time to de-bunk the bunk beds and see what happens!

Meet Samson...

Samson is the newest cat member of our family. He was given to us by some good friends at church who needed one less cat stirring up trouble in their house. He was kept indoors, but his owners thought he would be happier outdoors...and they were right!! "Sammy", as we call him, loves being outdoors. And, because he was raised by such sweet, loving people, he LOVES people. He meows at us to come see him on the front porch (where he is fed and hangs out). He LOVES to be held, which is great for the kids, because they love holding him. He LOVES to be petted and brushed and even comes when we call him. He even gets along well with Dixie! He really is a great cat! Best of all, he was FREE and already neutered when we got him! We're happy to have another cat in our family and hope he sticks around for a long time!

A few more Beach Pics

At least Rach has "air"
looks refreshing, doesn't it??!!

my sweet babies

I love this "stacking" pose!

While we were at the beach one day, a lady approached us and asked if she could take pictures of the kids. She had her card for a local photography place in PCB where we could purchase any if we wanted. Papa and Gege decided to purchase the disc and these are a few that she captured that day. I thought they were really cute and it also gave me some great pose ideas for next year's trip. Thanks G & P!! Love the photos!!!

Happy Birthday Bradley!!

Trent and his best friend, Papa

Rach, Rylee Ann and Juj

We had so much fun celebrating our sweet Bradley's 5th birthday! We had a pool party at Gege and Papa's house and invited some of his best buddies and all of his sweet cousins. His theme was Iron Man, but we weren't able to find an Iron Man cake, so we got a Star Wars cake instead. We also had Bradley's favorite- grilled hotdogs! It was a great time and Bradley got so many fun presents!!

Special Delivery!

We love presents at any time and for any occasion...but a present that comes in the mail is extra exciting! Bradley was ecstatic when he got his birthday package from Aunt Linda and Uncle Paul! He loved the superheroes...SpiderMan and Captain America! He loved the cute card that made noise like a racetrac...he was just so happy to have mail that was specially for him. Thank you Aunt Linda and Uncle Paul for always thinking of the kids!! :)

R.I.P. Kanobi

Bradley was THRILLED when he got a Beta fish from Rachel for his birthday! He named him "Kanobi" after "Obi Wan Kanobi". But, after 1 week and a half, poor K died. Bradley was absolutely devastated and sobbed for a little while. A few days later, we decided to get him another fish at an actual pet store and the "fish expert" told me he probably had starved to death because we were feeding him the wrong Beta food. (Thanks Wal Mart!) Anyway, another fish-y update will be as soon as I take a picture.
