Easter with Gege and Papa

"I don't see what all the fuss is about."

Brave Bradley

Papa, Gege and their grandkids

After a few pics with Gege and Papa, the kids had an "exclusive" egg hunt. (They got to find and keep all the eggs themselves!!) Then the kids met the Milligan's newest animals, 6 baby chicks. There were 2 black, 2 brown and 2 yellow ones. Rachel loved them and held them all and even came up with some names for them...Claw and Chicken Little are 2 that I can remember. Bradley was nervous about holding them and first held them with Papa's gloves, but later was brave enough to hold one in his hands. He had to get used to the "tickle" feeling their little feet made on his hands. He was so proud of himself when he finally held a chick and was so excited that he was shaking and sweating! He ended up naming one of the black chicks that he held, "Bradley". (Why make up a name when he has a perfectly good one he can share?)

Happy Easter! (the "pretty" version)

We had a wonderful Easter celebration, starting with church, then a yummy dinner and egg hunt with Gege and Papa. Then, we went to Nan and Pop's for another egg hunt and fun with cousins! It was a great day spent with our wonderful families, and we were really pooped at the end of it!

Happy Easter! (A comedy in pictures)

Trent's so happy to be celebrating Easter and Bradley has wheels for eyes.
awesome family pic...did you see our other family member? We call it: branch.

Trent's about to go down!

I was about to post some good Easter pics, but there were some not so good ones that are more fun to look at! Hope you enjoyed!

The Easter bunny visits...

The Easter bunny brought the kids some great goodies in their Easter baskets again this year. The kids were so excited to get to check it all out. At first Rachel was so disappointed when she woke up, went to the table and saw NO baskets sitting out. But, the Easter bunny had very cleverly put them on the couch under a blanket; that way it didn't matter who woke up first, no one would see anything without their siblings. Bradley loved all his dragon stuff, Rachel's fave was her iCarly stuff and Trent kinda liked his new kid's broom, but mostly walked around picking up any and everything.

MHBC Easter Egg Hunt

Rachel, Hannah and Hayla

Last week, our church held it's annual Easter egg hunt. I had really been looking forward to it till it started raining. So, instead of a really cool outdoor, authentic egg hunt, it ended up being held indoors. Luckily, the kids didn't care...they thought it was awesome to find eggs, even if they were right in front of them. Trent didn't care about looking for eggs this year...maybe next. Rachel was so glad she got to see some of her friends from church, and some from her preschool class last year. Bradley enjoyed tagging along with her and copying everything she did. Right after the hunt, the children's minister called all the kids and their parents to one side of the gym for a little evangelism and a prize giveaway. The kids all sat on the floor, and Rachel and Bradley sat together with some of Rachel's friends. Bradley was so excited about being with all the kids. I was just getting a kick out of watching him from across the gym. Every time the minister asked the kids a question, the kids would yell out a unified response, except Bradley. Example: Did everybody have a good time? Kids: YES!!; about a second later, Bradley would answer, "YES!" It was hilarious, because he was so excited about being part of the group (which were all ages from 2-8) but he was so busy looking around and watching other kids, he wasn't really paying that much attention. It made me excited about him starting Pre-K next year, where he'll get to have his own class, his own friends and his own time, out of the shadow of his precious big sister. We can't wait to see how our sweet Bradley blossoms on his own! Anyway, the egg hunt was fun, the kids got plenty of goodies and it was a sweet time with our church family.

12 month check-up

wow! Is that for ME?!
Trent got to enjoy a cupcake on his actual birthday.
We sang to him too!

Today was Trent's 12 month check-up. We're so thankful that we have a healthy, growing baby boy. Everything went well at his appointment. It's just funny that Trent is our only child who doesn't like going to the doctor. Rachel and Bradley have always loved going...loved interacting and chatting with the nurses and doctor. Not Trenty! He was fine in the waiting room...walking around and exploring. But, when we got to the room, our favorite nurse, Ginny, tried chatting with him and Trent wanted NO part of it. He started crying and shaking and practically hyperventilating! It's so funny to see this side of him when he's our calmest, most laid-back child! Anyway, he had to get 2 shots in his little arms, which he hated and I'm sure hurt. Poor baby! When he got in the car, it only took a few minutes for him to fall asleep. Sweet little thing!
Here are Trent and Brad's stats... (I can't find Rachel's! :( )
Trent- 23 lbs. ~ 29 1/4 in. long

Bradley- 23 lbs. 8 oz. ~ 29 1/4 in. long

Wow...the boys are neck and neck!
By the way, one of the perks of being 1 is that Trent got to have his seat turned around and is now finally forward-facing! It was so cute when I strapped him in the first time...he kept looking around like he didn't know where he was. Then he realized that he could see me and I think he figured that if he could see me then maybe I should be holding him. He fussed a little, and I think he misses getting to watch Rachel, but otherwise he likes facing front. He looks mighty cute sitting there like a big boy!

Happy 1st Birthday Trenty-Poo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

~ the Incredible Hulk is 1!!! ~

Well, our baby boy is 1 year old!!! We can't believe how quickly the year flew by. I remember heading to the hospital a year ago to be induced and then being able to have my second VBAC and see my precious baby boy! Wow! What an awesome day! Trent has brought us so much love and joy and we're so thankful that God blessed our family with this little boy!

We celebrated his birthday with family and his 2 "closest" baby pals, Amelia and Nathan. As is true "Trenty-style", he had a blast at his party. He enjoyed the adults, the kids, the toys, the food, the cake and the balloons. Trent went with the flow, flashed his toothy grin alot and had a great time! Bradley and Rachel also enjoyed the party...Rachel was more than thrilled when she found out Juj and Alex were making the trek up all the way from B-town. The girls had a blast playing and catching up, as they always do. Bradley had fun playing with Trent's toys, which he and Rachel helped open. It was a great first birthday and an awesome celebration of our precious baby boy! Thanks to everyone for helping to make it so special!!
